Ertha’s eyes are closed because I had no clue as to how to make eyes on a sculptured face. She has no ears for the same reason. Most of my sculptured heads have a head or hair cover because I never got good at ears. The eyes got better as time went on. Most of the sculptures I gave away or sold ~ I regret that I didn’t keep. Such is not the case with this one. I created her for two of my very dear friends from my years in San Francisco, and they’ve been her guardian ever since. They’ve taken such good care of her and, at my request, sent these two shots for me to share with you here on the website. Thank you, Jill and Bonnie.
